Break out your poles, the Jetty Park fishing pier reopens Saturday, January 14.
Hurricane Matthew caused major damage to Port Canaveral and Jetty Park in October. According to Florida Today, the storm caused over $200,000 worth of damage to the fishing pier, fencing, landscaping, and signage.
While the park opened shortly after the hurricane passed through, the fishing pier has been out of use. The former wood railing has upgraded to a more sturdy aluminum. Repairs have finished, allowing the Jetty Park fishing pier to reopen Saturday.
The Jetty Park fishing pier is a popular spot for local anglers and those visiting. We are happy it is back in action.
