Thunder On Cocoa Beach Races Into Port Canaveral This Weekend

Thunder On Cocoa Beach is back, with seemingly endless events right here in Port Canaveral. Massive, awe-inspiring speed boats will line up in the Race Village at the Port for guests to check out leading up to the races.  The fun begins Thursday, May 18.  Races are scheduled for Sunday, May 21 at the Westgate Cocoa Beach Pier. There will be two rounds races: the first starting at 12pm.  Races are free to watch, but admission costs vary depending on VIP parties and events. Buy tickets here.

To kick off the races, a VIP & Media reception will be held on Wednesday at Sandbar Sports Grill in Cocoa Beach.  Parties are scheduled throughout the weekend to get to know the racing teams, like the High Octane Kick-Off party at Juice & Java Cafe on Thursday.

The weekend will start with a rumble as the racing boats will travel in a parade on Friday, starting at 4pm. The convoy will start at the Race Village in the Port and will end at Minutemen Causeway in Cocoa Beach. The community is encouraged to stroll alongside the boats at the Cocoa Beach Street Party from 6pm – 10pm.

On Saturday, the Race Village will be open all day for guests to enjoy live music, food, vendors, and the power boats on display.  Sunday is Race Day! Bring a chair, a cooler, and your friends and family to watch the speed boats soar. The events will conclude with an awards presentation at 6pm at the Cocoa Beach Hilton.

See below for the full schedule of events. Registration information and driver information can be found on the Thunder On Cocoa Beach website.
