The Port Canaveral Association once again hosted the Port Weekend this October 24th & 25th. This annual event, which grows bigger and better every year, celebrates the spirit, scenic surroundings, entertainment, and recreational opportunities that make Port Canaveral a destination unto itself. Flavors of the Port was a new this year and featured specialty samplings from the menus of many of the Cove’s wonderful restaurants throughout the weekend event.

WHTQ 96.5 kicked off the Street Party Friday evening with live entertainment on stages throughout the Cove. The Port’s own Oktoberfest, Beer Fest offered more than 30 labels with which to quench your thirst. Arm Bands were available for participants to enjoy the Beer Fest all day or both days and was sponsored by Schenck and Heineken.

Saturday the Cove also hosted a variety of street vendors from our local community, a Shrimp Eating Contests sponsored by Wild Ocean and lots of kids activities with inflatable fun hosted by Rides and Games. A Halloween Costume Contest was again sponsored by SunCruz Casino. Then the competitive spirit really bloomed that afternoon, with the “Infamous” Bed and Bathtub Race sponsored by RJ Kennedy Construction.
