Wild Ocean Seafood Market is presenting a Crab Smash and Oyster Bash Seafood Jubilee on Saturday, Jan. 30, starting at 11:30 a.m. This Seafood Jubilee will have a wide variety of fresh seafood dishes including oysters, lobsters, shrimp and more!
Jubilee is the name for a local phenomenon that occurs sporadically on the shores of Mobile Bay that lures in many species of crab and shrimp, as well as flounder, eels and other tasty fish. When the wild scramble of fish and crabs on the sandy beach is spotted, people living near the shore ring bells and call out to alert their neighbors by yelling “Jubilee” so that everyone can rush down to the water to gather these delicious treats.
What makes a Seafood Jubilee so great is that the whole community comes together to prepare the copious amounts of delicious seafood, which is exactly what Wild Ocean Seafood Market is going to do at the Crab Smash and Oyster Bash Seafood Jubilee.
The Crab Smash and Oyster Bash is a celebration of our very own seafood heritage in a beautiful waterfront setting to benefit Brevard County Florida’s High School Pro Start Culinary Arts Program. Students from the culinary program will prepare the food on the shrimp dock in big Cajun cooking pots and on grills. Live Cajun Zydeco Music is provided by The Porchdogs. Prizes for drawings are donated by members of the local hospitality industry and they are really good! The food and the music will be stupendous.
